The book was published in 1999, so the seismic connection material is somewhat old – up through FEMA 267A. It was written by Jim Malley and two others from Degenkolb. It does contain excellent information – for the time, including some seismic connections no longer part of the repertoire for new buildings.

 

Overall, it’s a pretty good text, but I’m likely biased, as the author of Chapter 8 on Quality Control and Quality Assurance.

Also in the current issue of Structure magazine (p. 65) is mention of the "Handbook of Structural Steel Connection Design and Details," by Akbar R. Tamboli, for "only" $99.95.

I was wondering if anyone had seen it, used it, or had an opinion on its usefulness, especially for seismic applications.
