Ralph, The book was published in 1999, so the
seismic connection material is somewhat old – up through FEMA 267A. It
was written by Jim Malley and two others from Degenkolb. It does contain
excellent information – for the time, including some seismic connections
no longer part of the repertoire for new buildings. Overall, it’s a pretty good text,
but I’m likely biased, as the author of Chapter 8 on Quality Control and
